After Adalia finished opening her last presents, and we got her settled into bed, Kris and I looked at each other and groaned… The accountant is coming tomorrow. There’s no way around the deadline, despite the fact that the amount of work there is to do just might not be humanly possible to accomplish in the time left.
So we both set straight to work…
We had a huge job turning in all our weekly sales from the time we took over after the people who helped us this summer until now. With all Indira’s health issues and us being back and forth, the accounting has just not been the most important things on our mind. But now we have to pay (pun intended)! 3am, 4am… losing the ability to make these numbers work… Oh why aren’t they adding up? Nothing like number crunching at 4am! 5:30am and I am a worthless accountant and am messing up more numbers than I am helping, so I crawled into bed just as it was getting light. Kris on the other hand, just kept working. And then 7am came, and he had to go downstairs and start cooking breakfast. At 11:45pm that night the last guest was finally settled and he finally got to come upstairs and crash. At least its finally done.
AND at least we had this wonderful sight to stare at throughout the night…
